The Polish People Deserves Better
To give the readers an overview of what is happening in Poland recently. The polish government is planning to implement regulations to license and tax online gambling. However, some online casino companies filed a case before the European Court. The online casino owners won the case. The European Court holds that an online gambling operator who holds a licensed issued in one of the E.U.(European Union) member state has the right to provide similar services through out E.U. In response on this E.U. court ruling the Polish government passed a law which makes it illegal to gamble from companies located in other countries. I do understand the position of the polish government. Tax is the major source of revenue which government gets its budget. The polish government realized that online gambling which earns millions or even billions of dollars a year. To not collect tax from these big online gambling companies would be a big mistake. However, the decision to totally ban internet gambling which is mostly owned by foreign countries would be a big loss. The reason is that online gaming is a source of entertainment and relaxation for its citizens and to deny them the luxury of playing would be tantamount to depriving them of venues to enjoy and be entertained. I am pretty sure that there are other ways to solve this issue other than pressuring online casinos to pay taxes. I am pretty sure that a dialogue could be made to solve conflict. Both sides must be willing to sit and discuss possible solutions to the problem. They have to make some sort of compromise because it is polish people who suffer the most.
